Hi my friends,

It is summertime and you are having a ball in Sistiana.
Many tourists go to the beach of Sistiana and spend most of the day there.
That is fine, they are right to do so …especially for families with little kids.

But there is one thing that many tourists don’t do here (maybe because they don’t know).
-> Take the boat to go to Trieste.

Mirana of Sistiana. The boat will depart soon for Trieste.

If you are spending a few days on vacation in Sistiana, you MUST take the boat to Trieste.
The name of the boat company is Delfino Verde.
The line Sistiana-Trieste only works during the summer.

The boat trip to Trieste last 1 hour and 15 minutes.
Before arriving in Trieste, the boat stops for the first time at the Marina of Grignano.
This is a nice little marina just next to the Park of Miramare.
You can stop there and discover this nice little marina.
You can also walk 5 minutes to go visit the Park of Miramare and its castle.

The second stop is at Barcola.
If you come to Trieste, you MUST spend at least 1 hour in Barcola.
This is the place to be in Trieste when the weather is nice, no doubt about it!

We can already see Trieste and its famous Victory Lighthouse.

Molo dei Bersaglieri (or Bersaglieri Pier) in Trieste.

Last stop -> Trieste.
You will arrive at Molo dei Bersaglieri.
This dock is only 400 m away from Piazza Unità d’Italia, the heart of the city.
Spend a few hours in Trieste and explore the city center.

Piazza unità d’italia, only 400 meters away from Molo dei Bersaglieri.

When you are finish, go back to Molo dei Bersaglieri and take the boat back to Sistiana.
There is a boat leaving for Sistiana every 3 hours.

My tips for Delfino Verde:

1/ Time table for the line Trieste – Sistiana.
2/ Stop at Barcola and walk along the promenade.
3/ Stop at The Marina of Grignano to visit the park.
4/ Spend at least 3 hours in Trieste to explore the city center.
