Hi guys,

More than 1 million tourists come visit Ljubljana every year.
Should you decide to spend a few days to discover the city one day,
let me give you the names of some good hostels and hotels.

1/ Hotel Slon:

This hotel is a 4 star hotel situated right in the city center of Ljubljana.
It is only 250 meters away from Preseren Square (the heart of the old city).

Strong points:
– Perfect location.
– Very friendly and helpful staff.
– Parking (->an employee park the car for you and you can get it back the next day until late in the evening with no extra charge).
– Excellent breakfast.
– The restaurant of the hotel (Slon 1552) is very good and not expensive.
– Excellent Café (Café Zvezda -> Café, tea, pastries etc …) on the ground floor near the reception.
– Nice exterior design.
– Nice design on the ground floor (reception & Café Zvezda).

Weak point:
– The rooms and bathrooms are a bit outdated.

2/ H2O hostel:

This nice hostel is located near the Dragon Bridge.
Many of the double rooms have been recently renovated.
The hostel has dormitories for travelers on a budget (under 20€)
and very nice double rooms (35€ to 65€ depending on the season).

Strong Points:
– Excellent value for the money.
– Perfect location (view of the river, the Dragon bridge and the Castle).
– Very clean.
– Friendly staff.
– Many shops, bars, restaurants and 2 supermarkets (Hofer & Spar) are nearby.

Weak points:
– There is no breakfast, except for groups (10 people or more) if you make a request in advance.

3/ Hostel 24:

This hostel is located in the same zone as the previous one, on the other side of the Ljubljanica river.
The price for the rooms are very cheap. I recommend this hostel for those who are on a budget.
They have double rooms and dorm rooms. The size of the double rooms are a bit small (10 m2)
but you’ll find everything you need inside. For less than 40 € off season, we must not be too picky.

Strong points:
– Excellent location.
– Very cheap.
– There is a kitchen in the basement for those who would like to cook.
– It is clean.
– Supermarkets Hofer & Spar are nearby.
– Helpful staff.
– Good place for backpackers and travelers on a budget.

Weak points:
– Double rooms are a bit small (but confortable).
