Hi guys,

I am going to show you Grado (->map), a city in the region of Friuli-Venezia-Giulia.
This town is located on an island between the Grado lagoon and the Adriatic sea.
The town has about 10,000 inhabitants and is a popular tourist destination in this part of Italy.
The city is a resort town based on mineral spa.

Nice alley behind the Laguna Palace hotel. Many luxurious hotels and Spas in this area.

If you come on vacation in this region one day, I really think Grado is worth visiting.
Go there, spend the day and enjoy yourself. The old city center of Grado is really gorgeous.
It is very pleasant to walk around the old town and the marinas.
There are many shops, restaurants and bars … more than enough to keep you entertained
Walking in the old town around the Basilica di Santa Eufemia is a real delight.
This part of the city is incredibly beautiful.

Walking on Piazza Ducca D’Aosta. We see the bell tower of the Basilica of Santa Eufemia in the background.
Nice square near the Basilica of Santa Eufemia.

Walk along the canal between Via Riva Dandolo and Riva Bersaglieri.
At the end of this canal, you’ll see a little marina near a curved street called Via Alessandro Manzoni.

Little Marina in the old town near Via Alessandro Manzoni.
One of the many paved streets in the old town.

If you walk along Via Alessandro Manzoni and turn left on Via Conte di Grado,
you’ll be able to reach the beach of Grado in less than 10 minutes.

The beach is very big.
If you like spending time at the beach, you won’t be disappointed.

600 meters away from the beach, a Delfino Verde boat arrive in Grado at a pier called Molo Torpediniere.
If you are on vacation in Grado or Trieste, I recommend you to use the Grado-Trieste line to go from one city to another.
The return ticket coast only 10,65 €. It is a fun way to travel and see the coast line at the same time.

Another highlight of visiting Grado is taking the boat at Molo di Grado to go visit the island of Barbana.
This island located in the northern end of the Grado Lagoon is populated by a small community of Franciscan monks.
The boat trip to Barbana last about 20/25 minutes and the return ticket Grado-Barbana coast only 6 €.
One hour should be enough to visit the island of Barbana.

View of Grado from a bridge near Molo di Grado. One of the 2 boats on the right will depart soon for Barbana.

My tips for Grado :

1/ Go to the beach.
2/ Walk around in the old town.
3/ Take the Delfino Verde in Trieste to go there.
4/ Take a ferryboat to go visit Barbana.
