Hello guys,
Today, let me show you a little village called Ivanji Grad (->map).
Ivanji Grad is a little village of about 100 inhabitants just next to Zagrajec.
If you go near the church of Ivanji Grad, you’ll be able to see
other neighbouring the landscape, the vineyards and the village of Gorjansko a bit downhill.
If the weather is nice, you will also have a nice view a mountain Nanos (1300 m high).
Some of the oldest houses in Ivanji Grad are more than 150 years old.
Walk around the village and pay attention to the main door made of stone and wood.
If you look at the top of the gate, you’ll see a date engraved in the stone indicating how old is the house.
Every year, the last week end of june, Ivanji Grad welcomes the Lavender Festival.
It is a village fair where people can buy a lot of handcrafted products, buy lavender bouquets,
lavender soap, lavender oil, local food (cheese, ham etc…), jewellery etc …
Quite a lot of people come to this festival every year.
In june 2018, more than 1200 people to this festival.
1200 visitors in 2 days is a lot for a little village of 100 inhabitants.
There many paths crosing the forrest where people can hike, bike or simply take a stroll.
If you love walking in the woods, I recommend you to walk along one of the 3 main paths.
You can hike along the path going to Lipa or another one goint to Sveto.
There is a also path crossing the forrest that will lead you to neighboring village of Zagrajec.
