Hi guys,

Many tourists coming to visit Ljubljana often go visit the same places.
If you do not pay attention and go visit several museums, the castle etc … expenses can quickly add up.
It is always useful to know places that you can visit for free so that your wallet do not bleed too much.

Town Hall of Ljubljana.

One of these free places to visit is the Town Hall of Ljubljana.
Many tourists pass by this building without paying attention to it.
And those who pay attention to it do not even try to enter the building to see if it is open to visitors.
I got the Answer for you : Yeahhh, you can go inside. Don’t be shy!

A large part of the building’s groundfloor is open to visitors.
There are often temporary art exhibitions that people can watch.
The last time I went there, there was a nice temporary exhibition called “In Nature“.
It showcased paintings of the Slovenian artist “Gregor Pratneker“.

In Nature” -> Temporary exhibition in the right atrium of the city hall, in February 2019.
The ceiling in this part of the building is very high.
Close-up of one of the painting of  the exhibition (->painting by Gregor Pratneker).

If you walk around, you’ll probably find other interesting things to see,
such as medals and european awards that the city of Ljubljana won during the last decade.

Other temporary exhibition in a room, next to the right atrium.
European green capital 2016 -> One of the awards won by the city (exposed near the main entrance).

Do not hesitate to go inside the town hall.
You’ll probably see very interesting things such as models of the city and nice details on the walls.

Nice designs on the walls, in the left atrium.
Other paintings and models of the city exposed near the left atrium.

You’ll be able to see all that without having to pay anything.
What more could you ask for ?

My tips for the town hall :

1/ Spend at least 15 minutes inside.
2/ Take a look at the Robba fountain (20 meters away).
2/ Go have a drink or eat at the restaurant Gujžina (80 meters away).
