Hello guys,

I’ve already showed you the city center, Portopiccolo and the Marina.
Now, i am going to show the beach of Sistiana.

Let’s start with beach A, on the right side of the Sistiana’s Marina.
I prefer this side of the beach because it is more family-friendly.
There’s always something to do and you can go wherever you want.
There’s no sands on the beach. Only little rocks.
Some purists won’t like it, but if you’re like us, in this area …you won’t mind.
I would only recommend that you bring water shoes for the beach when you go in the water.
That way, you’ll be sure you (or your kids) won’t scratch your feet.

Beginning of the beach, on the right side of the Marina in late April 2018.

There’s differents part in beach A.
Some parts are more crowdy than others.
You just have to walk all along the water line and find the best spot for you.

There are many spots in the shade just behind the beach.
Many local people like to go there to read or take a nap.

Place just behind the beach in the shade not far from the “Cantera Social Club”. Locals people love this spot.

There’s a place that I like that is very animated during the summer.
You’ll see a lot of wooden houses saling drinks, snacks, hot dogs, ice creams etc …
There’s also animators in that spot during the summer to entertain kids and their parents.
They make them play games and dance.

After that door, many bars/cafés and 2 clubs. Very alive during the summer.
“Cantera Social Club”. The little scene in front of it is for summer animators …they’ll make you dance.
Bar/Café in front of the “Cantera Social Club”. A lot to eat and drink at a cheap price.

Between late May and September (every Monday), people can also go dance salsa in the evening at the “Cantera”.
If you like to dance Salsa and Kizomba, this is the perfect place for you.

Entrance of the “Cantera Social Club”. You can dance salsa there every monday during the summer.

If we continue walking a bit further, you’ll see a large kid’s playground.
If you have kids, they will love this spot.
It is just 30 meters away from the beach.

Kids’ playground behing the beach.
Beach near the kid’s playground (in late April 2018). We see the stone pier in the background.
Towards the end of the beach after the pier.

Towards the end of beach A, you’ll see a pier and another part of the beach (with long chairs) that looks private.
You can actually go there. You might have to pay if you want to be on a long chair but you can walk along and go to the end part of beach A.
The end part of that beach is usely the place that is the less crowdy because there’s a lot of huge rocks.
Many young people like to go there early in the morning or late in the afternoon because it is quiet.

Let’s leave beach A and go back to the Marina.

Back to the Marina. Walk straight ahead untill you reach the other beach.

Atfer walking 200 leters, you’ll arrive at the beginning of beach B ,on the left side of the Marina.
You’ll see a white building with a long white wall all it and a open large gate.

Go through the gate of this white building and you’ll reach the beach. You can also park your car behing that gate.
At the left of the white building, that street will lead you to Portopiccolo.
Beach B, behind the walls of the white building …looking right.
Beach B behing … looking left towards Portopiccolo.

You’ll see a bar on your left and if you keep on walking, you’ll see another bar.
This part of the beach looks a bit more posh because the bars long chairs all around …
when they offer you long chairs, the price for a drink is usually much more expensive.
After this second bar, the ambiance is a more laid back and less posh.

Near the end of beach B. The bar with long chairs is the “Cohiba lounge beach bar”.

At the end of the beach, walk up a few stairs to join the street leading to Portopiccolo.
Keep on walking 50 meters and you shall see the entrance of Portopiccolo just after a flowery roundabout.

Entrance of Portopiccolo after this roundabout.

Now guys …face the sea and look on your right.
If you look well, you’ll see the beach, a very long cliff and the Castle of Duino at the edge of that cliff.

My tips for the beach in Sistiana:

1/ If you have a car, the parking lot is free after 6 P.M (beach A)
2/ Go relax in the shade under the trees behind the beach (beach A).
4/ Walk along the pier (beach A).
5/ Go dance salsa at the “Cantera Social Club” (beach A).
6/ Go have a drink at the “Cohiba Lounge Beach Bar” (beach B).
7/ If you go to beach B, there are 2 free parking lots behind the walls of the white building.
8/ Walk along beach B and go visit Portopiccolo.
